Realigning Hearts (Weekly Gathering)
Duration: Weekly | Free Program | Registration Always Open
Summary:
As Muslims, we are deeply in need of knowledge of Islam. We need knowledge in order to connect to Allah ﷻ and His Messenger ﷺ. However, we typically limit knowledge to refer to knowledge of beliefs (imāniyyāt) and actions (a’māl). Knowledge includes these two at its foundation, yet the essence of knowledge is the ihsān, which is, “that you worship Allah as though you see Him, and if you do not see Him, know that He sees you.”
Ihsān is the knowledge of how to be in our hearts: how to love Allah; how to soften our hearts; how to root out love of this world, hatred, arrogance and envy; how to connect to the Prophet ﷺ; and in short, how to experience the reality of Islam, after learning what Islam is.
Join us for this special weekly gathering, where we discuss topics in a very positive and uplifting way, with the aim of helping us to gently realign our hearts to the love of Allah and His Messenger ﷺ.
Currently, we are studying Imam al-Muhāsibi’s Risālat al-Mustarshidīn (Treatise for the Seekers of Guidance), an early manual in Islamic spirituality (written in the first half of the 200s AH (after Hijrah)).
When: Every Wednesday, after Maghrib prayer
Location: Islamic Community Center of Tempe; occasionally online via Zoom
Instructor: Ustadh Yamen Atassi

Imam Nawawi’s 40 Hadith
The most famous compilation of hadīth is Imām Nawawī’s 40 Hadīth, in which he brings together the hadīth that best encapsulate the religion of Islam. Studying this text provides a strong foundation in one’s Islam and is necessary for any student of knowledge.
40 Hadiths for the Heart (Intensive)
In our last intensive, we learned about who the Prophet ﷺ is, what will happen on the Day of Judgment, and why we should love the Prophet ﷺ. In this next intensive, we turn our focus to the words of the Prophet ﷺ, namely hadiths that soften our hearts and nudge us towards the path of worship outlined by Allah ﷻ and His Messenger ﷺ.
Why Islam Is True (Virtual)
In this 8-week course, we explore Qur'anic Arguments for the truth of Islam. We discuss arguments for existence of God, the relation between science and God, arguments from design, miracles, and more. For adults and young people(16+).
Sīrah for Kids (Weekly @ ICC Tempe)
Every Friday, we will have the blessing of experiencing the most epic story ever, the Story of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. This is for 8-13 year old children. May Allah bless our time together, make it beneficial and joyful, and may you keep us in your duas.
Absolute Essentials of Islam: Beliefs, Purity and Prayer
In this 16-week course, we will be reading the text Absolute Essentials of Islam line-by-line with simple explanations. Unlike our Why Islam is True course, this is a more traditional reading, where understanding the text is the means by which we gain knowledge.
